Our goal at Legend Bloodhounds is to produce hounds that excel in the show ring and on the trail.
Legend Bloodhounds was established in 1991 and along the way I have done lots of research when choosing the dog or bitch I feel will produce puppies that will do well in the show ring and on trail. My dogs go back to The Rectory line produced by The Reverend and Jackie Sinkinson with over 40 years of experience in the breed, numerous Best in Show winning hounds, National Specialty Winners and Westminster Best of Breed and Group Winners. Anne Legge of Legacy Kennels bred her foundation bitch Eve back to the Rectory to get the line she has of today and where I acquired my second show dog Odie. Both of these kennels bred for healthy bloodhounds, both temperamentally and physically. Our mission is to carry on this tradition and breed for the qualities in the hounds of years gone by. Our emphasis is on producing bloodhounds with adequate bone and good movement to carry them effortlessly around the ring and on the trail. Structure is important in a trailing hound because they may need to go a great distance when trailing and need adequate bone structure to make this possible.
Fancy is an Eastern Specilty Best of Opposite winner as well as an Award of Merit at the Eastern Specialty and our largest American Bloodound National to date. She also was the Grand Sweepstakes Winner at the 1996 ABC National Specialty. Spike, Fancy's nephew is an Eastern Specialty Winners Dog placing boy and Dizzi is also a Winners Bitch/Best of Winners at the same Eastern Specialty. Both came home new champions! Their son Louie was this years Winners Dog/Best of Winner at the Eastern Specialty as well as Winners dog the day before. He also was Best of Opposite Junior in Sweepstakes. Louie went Reserve Winners Dog at the 2003 American Bloodhound National in Eureka, Missouri. Stella from the first litter went Best of Breed at the Danish National in 2005 and Lancelot took Reserve at the World Dog Show in Poznan, Poland with an entry of 64, with 33 of them being males. We have produced two girls Stella and Casey excelling in trailing. Both girls have worked numerous cases leading to convictions in the court of law. We are proud to produce hounds that excel in the show ring and on the trail.
Many years from now I want to look back and be proud to have been a part of bloodhound history and giving something back to the breed I love so dearly.
